Infant of Prague Shrine

Standard

infantofpragueshrineA couple of years ago, I went to a Mexican herbalist shop with my friend in Houston.  There, I picked up quite a few statues – small plastic painted statues and gold painted statues.  I haven’t used many of them, but I was inspired to use this tiny statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague – it fit the frame perfectly.

This frame was part of a lot I bought from Pier One (also years ago) and it usually comes with a textured tin overlap on top of it.  But, since that broke off, I decided to see what I could do with the rest.  I painted the frame gold, cut out a prismatic heart for the background and embellished the frame with Mardi Gras beads, grommets, rhinestones and gold mesh roses.  It is for sale at my Etsy shopCheck it out!
